Just wondering…

I’d rather hear about the following things-

my neighbor’s colonoscopy

the bank teller’s sister’s niece’s wedding at Disney World

my aunt’s story about the time she got triple coupons even though it was only double coupon day

a documentary on glue (OK, actually I did see this the other day on the History Channel and it was pretty interesting)

the sound of my dog licking his nether regions and that is disgusting

Anyway, you get my point.

Like moths to the flame, or in this case the ridiculously bright light from the Luxor Hotel and Casino, we are drawn to Las Vegas. The countdown is on people! Vanderkitten is dotting the Is and crossing the Ts in preparation for the big debut.

As a 2 time attender I thought I had a vague idea about what it would take to get ready to be on the other side of the proverbial booth but I now clearly see that I hadn’t the foggiest! The details I won’t bore you with, but believe me Dave and Mark(and myself somewhat) put a ginormous amount of work into getting ready so I have to give them their due praise. Thanks guys!

I’m stoked to see my dad on Tuesday. Pops is flying in to hang out at the show, watch some racing (and buy me a beer!), meet the extended VK family and soak in the sensory overload (and beer) that is InterBike. Of course I’m looking forward to hanging out with friends (especially my bestie, Vinnie, who I haven’t seen in 9 months) and making a few new ones, so if you’re in the area come by the Vanderkitten booth and shoot the breeze with us! And bring beer.

I’ll be back with IB/VK stories to amuse,delight and most likely severely embarrass someone (me) after the show!

I made a new friend this past weekend in Benicia. We’ll call her LC for now because she doesn’t know that I’m telling this story.

I went to registration to get my numbers, LC was in charge so I tell her I’m prereg and hand her my licence. She asks me if I’m Liz(yes I am) and then she tells me how she saw me at another race and liked my kit(awesome I know). Then she drops the bomb.

She said she couldn’t remember the name of the team(Vanderkitten) so she started calling us the “Thunderpussies” instead.

I peed myself laughing. I’ve heard all kinds of variations of Vanderkitten but this was by far the greatest!

So right away I liked LC. She’s good fun.

I told Dave and Mark about this and they both enjoyed it thoroughly, in fact I think Dave went home and trademarked the name…

Benicia went pretty well, got 2nd, Martina P. won. She is friggin’ fast… I need a coach. Anyhooooo, I’m pretty OK with how the year has gone and it’s only going to get better next!

On a side note, you may be wondering why there is a picture of Diamond Dave on the blog today.

Basically, I’ve been on a Van Halen kick since waking up 4 days ago and realizing that my hair looked like David Lee Roth’s hair back in his “Panama” days. ZEXXXY!!! Sammy and his Cabo Wabo tequila can shove it, they ain’t got nothing on DLR!
